Smashbook, Baseball and Pink Saturday

Posting for Pink Saturday over at Beverly's lovely www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com and for Show and Tell Saturday at http://www.bedifferentactnormal.com/ with my Smashbook page about my daughter, Kerri's baseball game as well as her singing group, Ovation singing the National Anthem at the Cincinnati, Reds baseball game last night, Friday, April 27th.

Used the pink baseball paper to represent the fact she is the ONLY GIRL on the team as well as in the BBA!!  Liked the black polka dot washi tape - carried on the "ball" team - used a piece of the K & Co. Smash tape of "who, where, when, why". Added a variety of baseball stickers - the main focus was the lineup card and a little journaling about the day.  (It was raining the entire came, very windy and cold, so didn't take any pictures- that's the beauty of Smashbooks, pictures aren't a "requirement".)

SO FUN SEEING MY DAUGHTER ON THE JUMBO TRON!!!!

ANOTHER FUN AND MEMORABLE EVENING AT A REDS GAME - 2ND YEAR KERRI AND OVATION HAVE PERFORMED FOR THE REDS AND SHE IS THE 3RD  OF MY 4 KIDS TO DO SO!

HOPE YOU HAVE A MEMORABLE WEEKEND!!

MY SMASHBOOK - sharing for PINK SATURDAY

My birthday was April 4th and my best friend, Hilda sent me my very first Smash book with extra goodies!  I immediately did the first page in the book using one of the pockets she sent to hold the birthday card from her.  The flowers I cut out from the wrapping paper she used, the butterfly was on the card's envelope and pulled the Smashbook sticker off the front of the book.  A simple page, but my first and I'm happy with it.

Also sharing my daughter, Morgan's set of original drawing stationery that we are selling in our Etsy shop.  I had posted another batch of these last month, but this is a different style of paper, etc.  She is already at work on new sketches.

Hope everyone has a fun Pink Saturday and a Happy Easter!!

One of My Favorite LAYOUTS

Did this page at the crop the other weekend, forgot to post it though.  Love this layout for its lovely simplicity of my beautiful daughter, Morgan.

I layered the decorative paper on a piece of black cardstock to emphasize the green floral design - which I LOVE.  Morgan's picture is matted on white cardstock then black cardstock to give it more dimension and focus.

The birdcage I cut from a piece of scrapbookpaper then embellished with the bling,  The green rosette I created using the Tim Holtz Sizzix die and an old button.

side few to see the layers of the flower

another, smaller Tim Holtz inspired tissue tape flower, button center with added rhinestone.  The three words I used to describe Morgan are run-ons

the birdcage is a rub-on and I added the bling to enhance it.  The butterfly is a sticker an I added the bling.

Linked to http://www.fingerprintsonthefridge.com/  Feature Yourself Friday, take a look for more inspiration!

Hope this inspires you to go do some scrapping, Happy Thursday!

The other flower I created is the Tim Holtz tissue tape flower he shows how to make on his blog, so easy and fun to do and so lovely when finished.  I used a flower button for the center of it an added a rhinestone to the very center.

Pink Saturday and More Mail

Its been awhile since I posted for Pink Saturday http://www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ , nice to do it again!

My daughter, Morgan, is always sketching; I grabbed a stack of her "doodle" pages while she was visiting from OSU and found this and the following images.  I played with my copier and decided to "create" stationery out of her "Les Femmes"...since I love writing letters to my pals, thought this would be fun and original to use.

Talked to Morgan about it and we are also listing them this weekend in our Etsy shop: RoMoHoDesigns,  stationery sets of Morgan's original sketches...the "ghost" image stationery works best using Sharpie Ultra Fine marker, I only had green at the time, but black would be even better.

Going to have envelopes to go along with them, will probably put a small copy of  each "Les Femmes" in the corner of the envelopes with a little decoration around the edges, still debating.

Happy to have received Pink decorated mail from my pal Kendra in CA, love all that decorative tape!

An another piece from new pal, Abby - she did all the colorful drawings on this envie, put a smile on my face!

an this is the back side of the envie and...

This is the back of the notecard she designed, so creative!!

Here's to a wonderful Pink Saturday of loveliness and inspiration!

Saturday Mail

My best friend Hilda, LOVES, really LOVES Hello Kitty and this is the letter she sent my way - so adorable!!!  Had some cute stationery inside as well and some cancelled stamps for me.

My collaged mail art envie I sent out to Hilda; all magazine clippings and I LOVE the Chinese New Year stamps!

Envie I made with some found online design going to Kendra

Quiet Saturday afternoon, spending time surfing the net and just enjoying an easy-going day.  I think brownies are needed for dessert tonight, so time to go make some - yummy!

SATURDAY ALL DAY CROP

My ten year old at 1 1/2 yrs., in her cute Halloween nightie asleep in daddy's arms.  Made the Tim Holtz inspired flower, the gossgrain ribbon is left over from a package then embellished with more flowers and bling

Our trip to Pigeon Forge, TN when Kerri, then 7 got to meet my best pal, Hilda and her daughters, Elayna and Kassidy for the first time.  They swear they saw a black bear!

We had a nice jacuzzi on our back deck at the cabin we stayed in while in Pigeon Forge - Elayna, Kassidy and Kerri loved it.

Oops, sorry took picture with layout in the protective sleeve...the girls enjoyed playing with their American Girl Dolls and even more fun shopping for clothing and accessories for them while at various stores in town.  I kinda got carried away with the rosettes, having fun making them on the Tim Holtz die for the sizzix.

These photos are 11 years old, when I was the Girl Scout leader of my daughter, Morgan's troop.  This was out camping trip for the summer.  Fast layout as I used a bunch of related paper scraps and did a "collage: style with them and the pics, fast, simple, at least the pics are finally scrapped after all these years.

quickie layout of my daughter, Morgan and her friend, Mike taken last year...this pic is actually a copy I prinited from her facebook page, forgot I had it, found it in my stash yesterday and just decided to scrap it.

Only one letter waiting for me last night, can always count on my best pal, Hilda...bright yellow envie with cute cupcakes, a nice long letter and some cancelled stamps.

Ready to go make some envies to send out this week and later time for tennis.

Spring Like Day and Mail

It was 65 degrees today, so gorgeous an its still February, unbelievable.  It definitely felt like spring today and tomorrow its suppose to get up to 70!

Mail that went out today to new friends...envie made from scrapbook paper, then a variety of magazine clippings adhered and a cute little post-it for the address label.

Backside of the envie

Another envie went out today, made from a magazine page from W and various magazine clippings.  Really loved the sweet pink of this mag page.

My daughter, Kerri asked me to use this magazine page as an envie, purple is her favorite color an I just added MORE magazine clippings plus the post-it (got packs on clearance for only .25 at Target a couple of weeks ago - love the $1 bins!)  Little note pad from Michael's $1 bin that I wrote the letter on.

More goodies I "tucked-in" the envie, some of the paperpad from Michael's, some sheets from the Smash Book line, cool skeleton keys I made, as well as the rosettes and the post its.

Time to work on more mail for tomorrow.

This weekend I'll be going to a scrapbook crop, really looking forward to it and I will have some pages to display for next week!

Love geting mail, but especially when it comes in fun envies!!

Presidents' Day - No Mail ...sigh....

Yes, it is Presidents' Day which means NO MAIL and makes me sad.  Bad enough none on Sunday,

but this makes 2 days in a row, no mail joy!  Well, that doesn't mean I stop making mail art

envies to send out though!

found the art nouveau design online then added some magazine clippings to it...

Need to go to a CROP - miss working on my scrapbook pages for hours and hours at a time and at a crop is the easiest and most inspiring way to do it in my opinion.

Happy Valentine's Day
